About Dr. Markarian

Dr. Mark K. Markarian, MD, MSPH, FACS is a Harvard-trained, board-certified aesthetic plastic surgeon with extensive surgery experience and a rigorous academic background that has allowed him to create a unique path to find his passion in the field.

Dr. Markarian began high school at age 11. At age 15, he attended University of California, Irvine to study Biology and Criminology, and then moved on to receive a Master of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology from Emory University. After completing nine years of medical residency in Nevada and Texas, he accomplished an additional year of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Fellowship at Harvard.

Now primarily operating out of Wellesley, MA, Dr. Markarian’s 20-year plastic surgery career has also allowed him to be an active contributor to the greater field of plastic surgery, authoring numerous articles and chapters in many prominent journals including Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Clinics in Plastic Surgery and Annals of Plastic Surgery. He has presented clinical research at multiple plastic surgery conferences including the annual meetings of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgery and the California Society of Plastic Surgery. He was also selected to be a reviewer for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Aesthetic Surgery Journal, and will be editing and authoring chapters in an upcoming Plastic Surgery review textbook.
